Soybean Procurement Policy
The Nisshin OilliO Group sources soybeans mainly from the USA and Brazil and manufactures soy products and supplies them to customers. When we procure raw materials, we strive to improve sustainability based on The Nisshin OilliO Group Basic Procurement Policy. When procuring soybeans, with regard to respecting human rights and considering the environment in soybean plantations, we engage in intensive efforts to make improvements throughout the supply chain and will make further efforts to improve sustainability.
- We procure soybeans from suppliers who are committed to sustainability with regard to respect for human rights and environmental considerations such as preventing deforestation and reducing CO2 emissions in production areas.
- We will continue to conduct fact-finding surveys on soybean production and logistics in soybean-producing countries and make efforts to improve sustainability throughout the supply chain. When sustainability issues arise, we will work with suppliers to resolve them.
- We investigate certification schemes aimed at improving the sustainability of soybeans and, when necessary, work with certification organizations and procure certified soybeans.
* Targets are subject to revision in response to societal and environmental changes, new findings, and the like.
